Students for Economic Justice Mission Statement

Mission Statement
    The Students for Economic Justice (SEJ) is a student organization at the Lehman Alternative Community School (LACS).  Our goal is to support human and ecological rights, with a particular focus on worker’s rights.  The SEJ seeks the guarantees of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the demands workers express through collective bargaining.  The SEJ will seek to actualise and protect these rights through education and community organising.   The SEJ is an organisational sibling of the Tompkins County Workers’ Center and the Labor Initiative in Promoting Solidarity.
    The SEJ acknowledges and understands the importance of solidarity and knows that the community is required to raise and protect the living standards and wishes of its members.
